wow, that's interesting.
I've seen on a previous client that antivirus gets a bit upset about the use of Ruby under the hood and can cause continual scanning activity which might be the culprit. Unfortunately not much we can do about AV and external software, but absolutely, this is not how long a normal verification would take.
If you look at any of the CI builds for example projects, you'll note the whole CI cycle takes just a few minutes (of which the majority of the time is the CI server booting/initialising and then package downloads etc.).
I'm going to close this, because I don't know what steps we can do to action it.
FYI there is a new beta v3 package for Pact JS which uses a rust core engine (You can f ind the link on the Pact JS repo). This workshop hasn't been updated for that yet I'd be interested to know if that resolves it.
