Error with a TextGrid having multiple tiers

Sorry, I found that the problem was not related to the number of tiers, but to the character encoding, which is UCS-2BE for the attached file.

I managed to convert it to UTF-8 this way:

        # convert from UCS-2 to UTF-8
	filetext <- readLines(fileRead <- file("speech_E.TextGrid"), encoding = "UCS-2BE"))
	close(fileRead)
	fileWrite<-file("speech_E8.TextGrid", encoding = "UTF-8")
	writeLines(filetext, fileWrite)
	close(fileWrite)
	
	# read UTF-8 file
	tg = TextGrid("speech_E8.TextGrid", sep=""))
