yep, I use https://github.com/caolan/async

var doc1, doc2, doc3;

beforeEach(function(done) {
  async.series([
    function(cb) { Factory.create("doc", function(doc) { doc1 = doc; cb(); }); }
  , function(cb) { Factory.create("doc", function(doc) { doc2 = doc; cb(); }); }
  , function(cb) { Factory.create("doc", function(doc) { doc3 = doc; cb(); }); }
  ], function() { done(); });
});

I didn't actually run that code, might contain some typos

Perhaps something like the following...

var async = require('async');

async.times(3, function(n, next) {
  Factory.create('user', function(user) {
    next(user);
  });
}, function(users) {
  done();
});

One quick fix to @brentertz 's solution. You need to call next with null as the first argument or it will immediately call the callback and pass in err. So:

next(null, user);

and in full..

var async = require('async');

async.times(3, function(n, next) {
  Factory.create('user', function(user) {
    next(null, user);
  });
}, function(users) {
  done();
});
