hi there,
thanks for providing the output! (and sorry about the password showing part, it's the first time someone mentions it :| as it's not present in all the devices it seems. i'll update the debug script to remove that too in the future)

by your description, i'm still uncertain if you tried the component and it's not working at all or you just consulted the compatibility list? taking a quick look at the file the switch should at least show up in HA and i'm having a good feeling that you should be able to toggle it also (as you said, it's pretty much a copy of sonoff basic and those work for sure)

nonetheless, your device dump has valuable information and I definitely plan to include the power usage measurement also, i was just waiting for someone to request it :D ( + as soon as i figure out how the data is laid out 😉 ) but this will happen sometime next year

Hi tnx,

Haven't tried it yet (just looked at compatibility). Currently the switch is offline (remodeling the room it is in). Will try it as soon as I get the chance. Power measurements would be great if it is possible to add (maybe if I am feeling adventurous I will try to add it in your code and submit it)

Tnx in advance

Thanks guys.

Is Sonoff Pow R2 will be same ?

from hass-sonoff-ewelink.

peterbuga avatar peterbuga commented on May 26, 2024

@SergeyAnokhin as stupid as this might sound I'm still trying to figure what are the physical differences between Pow and Pow R2 😄

but give it a try and let me know if it works! it wouldn't hurt if you could provide also the devices.json dump file also. in theory you should at least be able to toggle on/off the device if it follows the same structure as the one listed above

As far as I can see this is the original sonoff pow (not the r2). As far as I can see on various sites this is the difference:
offering 99% measurement accuracy, overload protection defined by the user, and various other features like the ability to export data

@StaticCube can you give a try to this https://github.com/peterbuga/HASS-sonoff-ewelink/releases/tag/v0.2.0 and let me know if it works ok?

you should have a new sensor entity that displays the power as returned by ewelink API

@peterbuga I have implemented the code and a sensor indeed shows up. Currently my switch is not connected so I can check this evening if it indeed gives the information we need.

Below a quick screenshot of it showing up in lovelace (i am using it for a printer ;))
