I originally envisioned the bookmarks to be able to have multiple parent categories (bookmark folders), and wrote a backend prototype using Ruby on Rails and Neo4j graph database, where this was possible.

Using tags might be one option to indicate multiple parent categories, but it is only available in Firefox.

Also, you are right that the users of my extension are heavy bookmark users, so they probably are more likely to use the tags feature.

I myself recently switched back to using Firefox (on Linux at least), so you can expect better support for Firefox in the future... :-)
