As far as I know the underlying API (and it's usage) didn't change between 7.0.1 and 7.1.1 which inevitably leads me to the conclusion that something is wrong with the new version of the operating system itself, or your setup perhaps (based on the fact that it is working on 7.0.1 and the only thing you changed was the OS when it stopped working)
I did some digging and found out that others have/had similar issues which sometimes were solved by rebooting the device and sometimes it wasn't.
I understand that quoting from the first page of results from our favourite search engine doesn't have too much added value but unfortunately this is all I have.
