The General Plan

To create an automated system to manage plant growth and development in a controlled or semi-controlled environment.
To start we can focus indoor planting, in a plant pot, and handle the monitoring of soil moisture.

Picking a board

• Raspberry Pi or Arduino?

Sensors

• For now we can start with a soil moisture sensor
• Some other data than can possibly be tracked (will need to evaluate for the future)
  • Automated Watering
  • Temperature
  • PH (water and soil)
  • Light (LDR) (also spectrum; different growth stages could have different requirements)
  • Humidity
  • Air quality (O2 and CO2)
  • A way to track that all the equipment is functional

• Fruiting and Non-fruiting?
• Can just use plant pots to start, with a focus on water moisture

Tools

• Board (raspberry pi)
• A water moisture sensor (not sure about the different types, maybe you can give some more input on that)
• Plant pots (have 5Gallon, 2Gallon, fabric)

Tech

The plan at the moment is to use JavaScript overall.

1. For reading data from the sensor in rpi
2. Building something like a dashboard for managing that data, receiving notifications with email or telegram etc...
