The license for both XFiles and XFilesRootHelper is LGPL, which means you are bound to release as open source (under the same license, LGPL) whatever modification you do to the projects code themselves, but not modifications on derived works. If you build and use the roothelper library/executable as is, by writing, for example, and android client app around it, your app's code need not be disclosed. For more information about LGPL, and differences w.r.t. the more constrained GPL license, you can have a look here
