Hi @aantthony, my apologies. The README in the master branch is for grunt-s3 v0.2.0-alpha, which is a grunt multi-task. For the v0.1.0 README, go here: https://github.com/pifantastic/grunt-s3/blob/0.1.X/README.md

I updated the README in master to link to the v0.1.0 docs, as this indeed confusing. You'll want to alter your config to look like this:

s3: {
    options: {
        key: 'My key',
        secret: 'my secret',
        bucket: 'mybucket',
        access: 'public-read',
        encodePaths: true,
        maxOperations: 20
     },
     upload: [
         {
             src: 'important_document.txt',
             dest: 'documents/important.txt',
         }
     ]
     }
}

Otherwise, you can switch to use the master version of grunt-s3.
