@jclombar the DOI is referring to a fixed/frozen number of observations. Being able to rerun a query could get more (up-do-date) data

What would be a typical workflow?
- Pierre Bonnet (botanist) makes use of GBIF web portal to create the most appropriate query (check images, filter >data providers not in the scope, filter taxa, data types, etc.)
- JC-Lombardo converts it to an API query to download efficiently, balance across classes, etc.
in that case using just the DOI is probably enough. This issue would allow @jclombar to rerun the query in case the data has changed. This (rerun and save the query under a new doi) can also be done via the gbif UI... so I'm not sure ;-)
