@owenprough-sift oh I can see, and which is the replacement? I mean which is the alternative to load this example now having optionally no elements on any of the dicts for a column (trivial need when working NO SQL <-> SQL) ?

This is a breaking change and did not find here https://github.com/pola-rs/polars/releases

You are using schema_overrides when you should be using schema. The schema parameter has the behavior you're looking for:

import polars as pl

df = pl.DataFrame([{"a": 3}], schema={"a": pl.Float64, "b": pl.Int64})

print(df)

shape: (1, 2)
┌─────┬──────┐
│ a   ┆ b    │
│ --- ┆ ---  │
│ f64 ┆ i64  │
╞═════╪══════╡
│ 3.0 ┆ null │
