@Hopiu which version of postal are you using? Definitely sounds like a bug, as it should at least return an empty array....

@ifandelse I'm using v0.9.0-rc1. Indeed it returns an empty array instead of the subscribers. Have a look at this jsfiddle.

@ifandelse The issue is the API says it supports getSubscriberFor( topic ) but the code only supports ( channel, topic ) and { topic: "topic", [ channel: "channel" ] }. This pull requests appears to fix that issue and allow the single topic.
