First thing that came to mind looking at the above entries. (its a fighter jet made of biceps).
But in seriousness I find that the most celebrated mascots are characters and not Labeled Graphics.

So Here I present Nerbert the Flying Waleope:

Here's the version without the guidelines and the Windows 10 bar. My next ideas are to make the letters solid, give the "Power" a solid single color background, and each of the letters of "NEX" should have different colored backgrounds (red, green, blue) with uniform white letters.

Perhaps the "Nex" part in "PowerNex" could be written using the colors seen in the NeXT logo?

I did this quick basis in half an hour, I can do minor adjustments and stuff if needed. Ignore the lines that aren't black, those are guidelines.
