I'm not a license expert. What I want is:
- Our copyright must remain.
- Changes must flow back into our project whether we take them over or not.
Is that possible with MIT or Apache?
from progressormeteor.
- Copyright: sure, it's important to keep it, all these 4 options respect the original authors' copyright.
- With MIT and Apache you are not required to redistribute your own changes. It's why these licenses are so popular and used by all enterprise-grade softwares: you can use the project, read the source, modify it, add your secret sauce to it, run it. You don't have to share your modifications. If what you want is that any modification of this project by anyone has to be redistributed / shared under the same license, you have to use AGPL (or GPL, but it doesn't make much sense here IMO).

This decision should definitely be made by @hudrima1 or @l00mi.

First I wanted to go with GPL similar we did with http://imageplay.io. But actually I can see that Progressor might be used in-house in some companies for training and such, which is okay. Normally most developers really contributing to the project send back the changes anyways. So I push for MIT. @hudrima1 what do you think?

So we do it with the MIT license.
