@DennisOSRM - that header is fine, but it would be more convenient if available via #include <osrm/OSRM.h>

Also the git hash would be great too, that g_GIT_DESCRIPTION only reports v0.3.9. I'm thinking something more like a1ecab2f95b8bb157b03f49bd067099c9dc8664c

putting it in <osrm/OSRM> has the disadvantage that a lot of things get rebuilt with every commit.

Can we make mason generate a file with the OSRM_VERSION environment variable that we include in src/osrm.js? We should overthink the API versioning in osrm-backend as well, going to cut a ticket in backend for that as well.
