Why? Almost always turns into an anti-pattern. Have you thought about an approach like the one in Rhino ESB or NServiceBus?

So would you be satisfied with the multi-dll approach? Your core dll would
have the common stuff and there would be a satelite dll for each container.
I can certainly do an Autofaq and a Castle Windsor in almost no time.

I can leave Autofaq in the core, but that would mean folks that use Castle
Windsor would have to deploy Autofac dlls as well unless we go to a more
complex reflection-based implementation.
