You're using a build of Postgres that makes an inappropriate change to the version string issued to the client.
I am not interested in debating the merits of correcting something that is not broken.

Super. Not looking to debate either. Just reporting that your library isn't useful as-is. :)
Looking at the linked tickets, it seems pretty clear that you are far more interested in being "right" about something that doesn't matter. Have at it.
