I guess this is technically an issue for https://github.com/python/pythondotorg, but it might get more traction here.
AFAICS the site uses django-haystack, which is looking for contributor for sphinx inv.

@AA-Turner this seems like something that would be particularly well suited to your vast Sphinx expertise, if you have the bandwidth and motivation to consider it (but I certainly understand if you don't)
