Here is what you have to do:
- Download the "hackbar.1.6.0.xpi" file.
- Add ".zip" extension at the end of the file, so that it looks like this: 
"hackbar.1.6.0.xpi.zip"
- Uncompress the file into a folder
- Edit the text file "install.rdf"
- Change "<em:maxVersion>4.0.*</em:maxVersion>" for 
"<em:maxVersion>5.0.*</em:maxVersion>"
- Zip the file again and remove the ".zip" extension.
- Go to the Add-ons Manager in Firefox 5
- And install the Add-on with the option "Install Add-on From File..."

And that's all... I hope it works for you ;D

Hi, 
after the modification and recompression,FF tells me the file is corrupt. 
I am compressing it with Winzip 11.x 
any clue?

Just a wild guess, but maybe you archived the whole folder with extension 
files. You must add to zip only the files inside that folder, but not the 
folder itself.

The website released was a bit in a hurry but now should be working from 
Mozilla repositories :)
