This article is so much better than the official documentation. The code snippet highlighting section is so terse, it does nothing to explain how to get it working which was my major hurdle.

To get a blog up and running quickly, I recommend forking Barry Clark's Jekyll-now theme. These instructions go into more detail than the one in github readme. I got a local version setup with minimum hassle using the official jekyll guide. After spending all morning on it, I couldn't get pygments working in jekyll despite getting it to work within python. Kept getting some unknown method error in some .rb script file.

Using your advice, I managed to get rouge working simply by changing _config.yml to: highlighter: rouge and ran gem install rouge.

I followed this article but i am not getting fenced code blocks as well as syntax highlight. Here is my website. I am using redcarpet and pygments.
