Text alignment works for me using parse v1.11.1.

I think your equality test is flawed.
The test should be:

from parse import parse
fmt = "{:>6}{:>7}"
fmt.format("three", "four") == fmt.format(*parse(fmt, fmt.format("three", "four")))
# True

from parse.
