I pulled this from a note in knitr on how to create a webapp on OpenCPU.
Your knitr opencpu app is a good start, but small suggestion for improvement: In the current version of your app, the client (javascript) is pushing R code. This could potentially lead to problems, for example when the text contains quotes. The cool thing about shipping a webapp inside an R package is that there is a more natural place to put your R code. It is better to put any R code where it belongs: in your R package. For example, create an R function in your package:
knit2html <- function(text, ...){
# remove explicit package names if they are imported into your package.
mdtext <- knitr::knit(text=text);
htmldoc <- markdown::markdownToHTML(text=mdtext, ...);
htmlbody <- sub(".*<body>(.*)</body>.*", "\\\\1", htmldoc);

I just saw the R Markdown app in OpenCPU. It is awesome! I guess I will model the slidify app based on this.

I need to think of an app for Slidify, but OpenCPU does not seem like the best way to go about it. So I am closing this issue.
