Sure thing Paul. I just ran the current Json.Net binaries (5.0r6) through scan.xamarin.com and apparently it 'should' work just fine now. 'It' being the portable40 version & it seems to be 100% compatible with Android/iOS:

http://scan.xamarin.com/Home/Report?scanId=3487bca6-ba06-4b43-b2c2-c7eb1ef15df2

I've also dug a little around (apparently there are several Json.Net forks for monotouch and also a version on Xamarin's component store) and there is/was an issue already filed at Json.Net's issue tracker (JamesNK/Newtonsoft.Json#18) but as it was a pull request with 'unnecessary' changes, it got closed.. but as the PCL one does some to work it can't be much to glue the pieces together.

Hey @jbattermann, don't use any of those - go to the releases page at https://github.com/github/akavache/releases, that Zip file has everything you need, and it absolutely does work on all Xamarin platforms

Ahh I see.. I'll use that one than. Thanks! Is there any way to remove the dependency from the nuspec / Monotouch part of it though or would/should one use the Xamarin Component in the future (saw a couple commits pointing in that direction)..?

@jbattermann I can fiddle with the dependency stuff, honestly I didn't even think NuGet worked with Xamarin projects in VS. The Xamarin Component will be way easier though

Ahh don't sweat it - xamarin component is perfectly fine and once PCL Support from Xamarin is complete (see 'mhutch's comment at http://nuget.codeplex.com/workitem/2926) and NuGet works fine with in this setting, too, I'll take a closer look at it again.

Thanks Paul!
