We have discussed this, and yes that might be interesting. I've already played with an implementation locally to dispatch through Vert.x, the opposite is a bit more difficult since Vert.x doesn't expose its internal to plugin development.

We could also create a module that has a self-contained Reactor environment and communicates with the rest of the vert.x world just on the event bus and not through API sharing.

Hey Tim, I meant - at least in 1.x - I didn't see a way for a plugin to hook into vert.x deep enough to replace EventLoop and ThreadPool dispatchers per some Reactor alternatives.
