Looks like Container integration is possible under the contextualIdentities API. Going to do more reading to see how this can serve the user-defineable groups usecase.

The only thing I'm not sure about is preserving manually sorted tabs and the manually-defined user-groups. The user-defineable tab-groups is a good idea but I think Multi-Account Containers already handles this functionality quite well. If I do implement the Groups feature it would be based off Container functionality.

Right now my planned roadmap for the extension in the immediate future is:

1. Internationalize the extension, allowing people to submit their own translations
2. Refactoring the code for a port
3. Better mouse interface for managing tabs

Forgive me if it takes a few months to fully implement this!

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm loving all of these ideas, especially the four Headlines button. I had some things planned for easier filtering with shortcuts (e.g. typing !h <search term> would only search History, let's call them bang queries) and I think these having the Headlines under 4 buttons placed beneath the search input is the right way to show this visually.

I'd like to do it in a way that the headline buttons react to mouse clicks as well as any bang queries made in the search input.

I'm glad you liked it! I hope that we can enjoy those features in the future. Do you believe that you will (or perhaps even plan to) use all of them, or are there some that feel to far from your idea or to optimistic to build or maintain? I like the idea with bang queries as well, although I know I'm probably not going to learn them. But for those that often use shortcuts it's quick and still sets them apart from just about any other shortcut.
