I'd love to see this as well. It seems that cherrypy v3.0 and higher support ssl:

If you run headphones on a server that already has another web server, like Apache2, running in SSL mode you can reverse proxy it as a work-around. I already have Apache2 setup in SSL on the same server running headphones for other day to day uses and reverse proxy to avoid opening more outside ports and get the SSL on headphones as a bonus :)

A reverse proxy with apache is probably better since then you can do it for SAB/torrent program also and avoid having multiple ports open. Sick-Beard/Couch-potato can also be reverse proxied via apache.

Yep. My entire SAB + all tools (sickbeard, headphones, couchpotato, etc) are all fed via the reverse proxy. Best solution for me since they all want to operate on their own cherrypy instances that can just be bound to localhost only listening.
