No, I think that is too intrinsic.

Try this

• add a dependency to the module, which provides the faulty implementation
• in your module duplicate provide a fixed implementation of the faulty implementation (same package as the original)

Hopefully the classloader will enable your class instead the one of the original module. I haven't try that yet.
