Greetings,
a ping for this issue that I also do find annoying. I do indeed open multiple views (splits) of the same large file and very often call clang-format for indenting code I am writing (eases the reading of that newly written code). But then, as the original poster said, all the other views are "reset" with the cursor set at line 1: col 1.
Thank you for you work on clang-format that I enjoy a lot.
