This is happening for me as well; I'm unable to change the theme. When using the status bar menu, any choice is immediately reset to Darkhan if the preview window is open. If not open, the selection can be made but is reset as soon as a preview is opened.

Previewthemes live in the install folder, not in the shared folder. So it:
<installFolder>\PreviewThemes
That determines what's available. You can copy and create new themes and they won't be affected by updates (unless you wipe the folder completely).
For a full install the folder will be c:\Program Files\Markdown Monster\PreviewThemes
. The docs still show the old install path in %localappdata%
but that's only used if you have an old install that originally in stalled there.
The easiest way to see where the folder lives is by going into the Previewer and using the Context Menu -> Edit Preview Theme. It'll take you to the current theme - the base location is where any theme updates need to go.
I need to update the docs, though so that's on me 😄

I've updated the documentation for Preview Theme Customization on the docs site:

I suspect that's happening because either the preview themes folder is not accessible or the folder that contains the selected theme doesn't exist in the install directory. (see docs)
If you're using a portable install you may have to tweak your permissions in order to be able to read and write at the location you saved the installation files.
Cosing due to lack of feedback...

Ok so I just noticed that some of the themes don't want to select - namely those that have spaces in them like GitHub Dark. Changing the name to Github-Dark works - I suspect the problem is related to URL encoding in the template and that probably needs fixing.
I didn't notice this because there are only two themes that have spaces.

OK, turns out this is a regression bug that was trying to address spaces in the theme path, but in the process broke the directory validation.
You can now select themes with spaces in them again (ie. Github Dark)
This should be fixed in 3.1.15.1
