I tried any channel I could find to contact the author a while ago. No answer.
We use the project in https://github.com/Varying-Vagrant-Vagrants/VVV so I decided to at least fix the few minor problems and release to packagist to make our provisioning (vagrant) faster.

Only real issue is licensing. SEE: #35 / wp-cloud#2

a little while ago I tried to contact a few authors of abandoned projects. maybe I hit him up on twitter/maybe not. Doesn't seem to reply anywhere anyway.
