Work around: removing the else-branch on line 73, i.e. //not data url, is it a string with special needs? seems to solve the problem. Interestingly, it only breaks some strings, e.g. アイドルマスター is fine but チェンジー！な真を描きました (´；ω；｀)　この衣装は is not.

The code was added in ae1446d (fix issue with binary string conversion), although I have no idea what issue it is.

In the latest (4.21), non-ASCII characters do not work. Try this:

download(new Blob(['École,Être,Allô']), 'a.csv', 'text/plain')

You will get this:

École,Être,Allô
