Ok. I'll run a longer test with a profiler. It might be the jdk's default gc settings, in which case I'll document better settings, or a leak in my code (or rhino's?).

possibly rhino's - The view is relatively big. If you'd like I can give you a copy of the database, it is public data, so no worries.

I can reproduce this in a unit test now (it takes quite a while, though), I'm profiling now.

Ah, spoke too soon. The memory leak was in my test code :). So, I've completed an indexing process up to 100 million documents, memory consumption was flat.

Setting couchdb.lucene.ram to a very high number (like 512) might be a problem. The default is 16, so try that instead?

user tested with new defaults, seems fine now.
