I just posted over in Reddit about how Synology is asking people to submit Feature Inquiry to request other KMIP servers.

I image that many of us in this thread are also the same people who are talking about volume encryption in Reddit.

My hope is that we can bring attention to this and get lots of people to request pyKMIP support "again".

I think, it is just a Synology bug. I used two Synologys without kmip-server-dsm and used synology's own KMIP Server => Same situation. I hope for a fix with the next update.

I just tested the 7.2 release. I was unable to have the Volume unlock on reboot using KMIP server even though all the connections looked good. I then switched to local vault and it was able to unlock on reboot.

@nikos1988: I tried to change in Global Settings from KMIP Server to Local Vault. Same Problem! The automatic decryption after reboot fails. Do you have the same behaviour?

I haven't tried local vault with 7.2-64561, but it worked fine with the RC

@pipsen with the official 7.2 release, what full volume encryption problems are you encountering?

I presume there is nothing we can gleam from the /user/bin/pykmip-server file in the Synology DS itself? Unfortunately I don't know Python.

It is now working again with 7.2-64570, but only if you keep KMIP Server on DSM disabled and enable KMIP Client

Sorry for not replying, didn't have any time for this project. It looks like Synology has fixed the issue. Just checked with DSM 7.2-64570, and it worked just fine.
