The "nixnote-packaging" is only used for the PPA, so I did not activated the issues for that repository. Because almost everything is here anyway. But comments etc. are welcome, I think easiest is, you just post the thing here. Either rename this issue, or close it and open new one.

See also this issue for some related info: #20

When I started with PPA packaging few weeks ago, I had no clue how it works. So it may be that the result is bit sub optimal and I'm open for suggestion.

One thing which I plan to do, is to rename the "tidy-html56" package to "nixnote-tidy" and let install the "tidy" into /usr/lib/nixnote2/tidy-html instead of /opt/tidy56. This will resolve the problem of having too old system "tidy_html".
I want version 5.6 for nixnote. E.g. Ubuntu Xenial has system tidy v.5.2.
Nixnote will compile and run with tidy 5.2, but it could be, that the html cleaning is not that good, as it could be with 5.6.

I've also been battling old versions on Xenial recently. I can't wait for April 2019 end of support ;-P

You're tackling a bunch of stuff admirably in my estimation.

This is also the first Arch package I'm attempting. I'm glad to help you get this very useful (and now maintained) software out there. The more visibility, the more help I hope you'll get.

BTW, have you considered contacting GitHub to have the original nixnote2 package move to "community"? I believe there are processes for when someone is non-contactable to keep a project alive. Just having a link on the README.md to your project would be brilliant.

Closing and hoping that GitHub will give you access to the upstream repo.

I think you mean Trusty :)
Nixnote currently doesn't compile on Trusty, there is minor issue, I could fix..), but I'm not sure if it is still worth doing.

No. I don't know the procedure. But I'll will look it up. Maybe it would be possible. Good idea. I'll check.

Can you point me to a page where such process is described? I did a quick googling and I did not found official way..
