if you remove all the roots_root_relative_url filters in the cleanup file does it work?

without it, I get:
get_home_url() returns http://localhost/research.dmsolutions.ca

Do you have the latest commit? Your issue should have been fixed in this commit: 31f9e89
If you downloaded a tagged version it won't have this commit.
