I could take care of this.
I do this in my project with pyric.pyw which gives me great control over the Wi-Fi card. Plus there are a couple of other tricks to disable card management from NetworkManager without calling "airmon-ng check kill"

Sounds good! That would remove the need for calling iw or airmon-ng before running scapy-fakeap. The NetworkManager trick could perhaps be an additional optional flag in this case.

I think pyric.pyw does use iw functionality in the background.
I will try working on it when I can and do a pull request where we can discuss this in more detail.
The NetworkManager "trick" is just adding the AP interface to the unamanged devices list in NetworkManager.conf and restart the service.
This way your main interface is still connected to the internet and another one can be in Master/AP mode. That allows you to redirect traffic from one wireless interface to another.
