pandas 1.2.4
As you can see, the pandas version is a bit old. I had some dependencies issues with newer versions. So, I guess that the error can come from there.

Definitely the error is coming from the pandas version, I see that I'm using at least pandas>1.3
.
I will check if I can make it compatible with it but else the solution will be to upgrade. I'll keep you posted!

Don't worry too much about it! I updated pandas and it is now importing progeny properly. Let us hope that I don't break many other things in my environment, but progeny must be there :P. Thanks!

I refactored the code of the omnipath functions so that is comptible with older versions of pandas, now it should work also with pandas 1.2.4
.
You can install the latest version of decoupler by running:
pip install git+https://github.com/saezlab/decoupler-py
