Personally I hate image viewers that try to extend to view file formats that
aren't
images. IrfanView on Windows was ruined by trying to support videos and text
files.

true, but as a preview replacer it would be useful if xee could handle pdfs so
that
when I look through a folder containing raster images and pdfs I don't have to
have
preview open as well.

Skim is already a great PDF viewer, so I think Xee should just stick to what it
does
best and improve its existing capabilities.
