Steel Battalion Controller Library for Arduino

arduino-library-badge

Allows communications with a Steel Battalion Controller using a Teensy 4.0 or 4.1

Requires an original XBOX -> USB adapter. Make sure it is no longer than 3 ft.

Additionally the library currently only works when plugged in directly into a computer. It does NOT work when plugged in through a USB hub. This seems to be a power negotiation issue, but I have not been able to resolve it. Also will not work if a hub is used between the Teensy and the controller.

sbc's Issues

HDJOY only 32 buttons

When using HDJOY it will show a max of 32 buttons? None of the toggles, gear lever or tuner dial works and a couple switch's and two of the three Pedals do not work. Anything that is coded with a number above 32. Buttons also do not light up when pressed, It doesn't just seem to be a windows thing as Pointy's Joystick test cannot register them sending input either. Teensy 4.1, Arduino 1.8.19, Teensyduino 1.5.7, SBC 0.0.3. Everything seems to be compatible and firmware flashes fine. I have also tried it with the Versions you linked and same issues.

USB HID report descriptor?

Just a question, but how does the library handles the HID report? Does it send the raw info from the controller or do you edit in some way? I tried to read the Teensy library you are using, but even then, I wasn't able to understand the same way I did with the Arduino Joystick Library, or the many Blue Pill examples.

Please officially add Teensy 4.0 and 4.1 support

Recently, the ArduinoXInput_Teensy library added Teensy 4.0 and 4.1 support, and I wanted to ask if you could adapt the SBC library to work with them as well. Also, could you please update the instructions on Hackaday to reflect these new developments?
