for your last point (absolute paths) I've already created a Service Market Place issue. It is "in process by SAP" since two weeks.

sorry, but the Theme Designer is currently not part of OpenUI5 and even developed by a different team, which is not looking into this issue tracker.

The "absolute paths" issue is apparently already reported.
The "custom CSS" is of course appended... not sure what else it should do - look through existing CSS and check whether there is an identical selector which sets the same style property and replace there? No. Overriding styles later is how CSS works, even if it creates redundancies. Those could be optimized away later.
Overwriting all other params... you should ask the Theme Designer team about the mode that shows you ALL parameters. ;-) Compatibility across upgrades cannot be guaranteed for such modifications, though.

So if there is still an issue open, please report it using the normal bug reporting process.
