I don't know how or where to get mssql (sql server) driver. I'd be happy to add this to the docs.

This issue is too broad to have a milestone. Adding to general maintenance.

The documentation suggests to use -dbhelp to get the params necessary for certain db types, but the output only shows descriptive names of the dbs, e. g. 'IBM DB2', but it lacks the name which has to be put into the configuration file or on the command line. There is not hint that 'PostgreSQL' has be named 'pgsql' in the config file. Only if you are capable of looking into the jar file, you can find out the correct name.

Actually this is discussed at the end of #415 I think.
