Can't we give each workers an actual token range within which to work? Then we calculate the token using the regular algorithm and only once we find one within this workers range do we proceed.
This can lead to stalls but there are ways we can reuse other workers generated data by sharing these on some channel that all workers poll from.

This does not solve general wider validations such as those hitting secondary indexes.
