nokogiri fails to compile

Looking at the build's mkmf.log file, I see:

/opt/chef/embedded/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/nokogiri-1.6.4.1/ext/nokogiri/conftest.c:8: undefined reference to `libiconv_open'
/opt/chef/embedded/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/nokogiri-1.6.4.1/ext/nokogiri/conftest.c:9: undefined reference to `libiconv'

I can't seem to find any package containing this library.

Looks like nokogiri now requires libxml2-devel. Try installing that. Not sure if that's something I should add to the recipe, I'll need to think about it.

Thanks. That worked around it. I'll just install the package either in a wrapper short term, and as part of the AMI long term.

I'm going to close this issue for now. Just looked on the supermarket and there's no cookbook for nokogiri, so maybe I'll write one that reliably installs it for different distros and then require it in this cookbook.
