Thanks for the issue, that bit should be removed from the docs. The lib now sends events whenever it can, so having separate settings for development isn't as useful anymore.

Typically I just use:

Segment::Analytics.new write_key: 'YOUR_WRITE_KEY'

and maybe

Segment::Analytics.new({
    write_key: 'YOUR_WRITE_KEY',
    stub: true
})

Occasionally to have faster requests, and see payloads logged.

Awesome, thanks! So there's no need to specify a smaller :batch_size in development?
