Note that I don't have any docs on outgoing Tor usage with p2pool, and AFAIK it does not support Tor for outgoing p2p connections natively.

For monerod, I have opened an issue that I'm waiting on before I will add docs and migrate to Tor proxy by default:

Ideally this would use network mode: service:tor on everything, which would blackhole all traffic not through the tor proxy container and all of those services would show native which would allow Tor to be configured more traditionally instead of with the proxy you're using.

Once that was done, all incoming and outgoing traffic would be over tor without exception and you'd have a truly secure and anonymous system.

Again, this isn't very applicable to p2pool, but you don't necessarily want p2p data going over Tor for several reasons:

• Drastically increasing load on the Tor network
• Drastically increasing sync times and block propagation lag
• Drastically increased risk of Sybil attacks
• Drastically simplified eclipse attacks

p2pool especially should not normally be run Tor-only, as you will have severely delayed block propagation leading to a very high uncle rate and many missed blocks on the mainchain.

So what's the solution to mine anonymously then? Because if the incoming and outgoing traffic from p2pool is not obfuscated with Tor, then it's a trivial exercise to unmask the wallet.
