Thanks madeye. it's not important as long as major blocked sites are routed. Strange that myip.net is not routed by bestroutetb as it is supposed to route all non-China IPs.

I suppose individual proxy mode requires rooting? It's greyed out on my lenovo k900 (android 4.x )

Yes, you have to root the phone before using individual proxy mode.
