What do you mean by portable version? A single exe file, or just files you can copy and paste and it will run without having to install it?

You are about to read some bad English and I am really sorry about it I am not a native English speaker.

Now let me ask you what's difference b/w the two?
A single exe file - are you talking about an installer or just a portable YPD exe where a user just need to have that exe to open it on any computer a completely portable solution (a kind of self-extractor, whenever the user opens the exe your exe will search for necessary files that need to present on the folder if there are no files present. your exe will automatically extract those files that needs to be present to open the program.)

that's good old way. you can just make zip file. so users just need to extract those files to open the program. (this is the old portable method.)

anyway, it completely depends on you which method would you like to take?

The much much easier one for me would be the files you can copy and paste
You can grab them from the installer actually, all it does is extract files somewhere you choose

Just copy the files from the install directory on your pc and copy them where ever you want, the program will work everywhere. The installer is just a convenient way to extract the files to a location and create a desktop shortcut etc..

If you want to do that, make sure you copy these files: (the ones with the red 'x' are ones you don't need)

Hmm, I am saying to make a portable version for everyone.
it's a too much of hassle to first install it and then move the files to the different location and what about Reg entries and uninstallers it would be really easy if you make an archive or a self-extractor without an uninstaller.

I will think about it but it will be troublesome now, I will have to find a file hosting service that will allow me to save all versions for free and also, make the portable version update itself without an installer (youtube makes some breaking changes sometimes, without an update the program will not work)

I am working on version 2.0 right now which is almost a complete re-write of the program, I will keep this option in mind and try to make the program more flexible in that regard

For now, this is the only solution I can offer you unless you can provide me with a hosting service that allows me to store a lot of files, sorry :(
