There's no way I can think of to make this work without changing all the child tables and the parent as well.

Yeah, currently this does not work with partitioned table where child table inherits from parent tables. Since, pg-osc uses shadow tables for its procedure, adding a column to a shadow table, then attaching that partition to a child table against this new shadow table won't work because schema would look different. We'd need shadow-copy/migrate each child table in order to support schema changes for partitioned tables.

Closing this issue now - updated readme to indicate partitioned tables are not supported for now.
