The first step is to get the exerb code to 'do the right thing' with 32 bit depth icons. If anybody volunteers for this task I'll defer to you. I find the code a bit difficult to understand. It's also a good learning experience (update wiki article https://github.com/Shoes3/shoes3/wiki/Creating-Icon) by creating a new walkabout icon (512x512x32)

The exerb 256x256x32 problem turned out to be simple. In the. ico header a width or height of 0 (unsigned char) means 256. The exerb icon code appears to be written to handle Win 3.1 specs or maybe W95.

Changing the Windows icon from fedrales to walkabout (or a user given app like numinoes) is a goat roping cluster f*ck. I am not pleased with all the icons littered all over the place. Don't ask what I think about NSIS need for .bmp in a constrained format.

User specified icons for command line packaging/custom packaging had a bit depth of 24. Fixed/accommodated. Closing this one for now.
