Ultimately I don't want to add further logic to Sidekiq as a band-aid for long-running jobs. What do you think?

Thanks for links. I'm eyeing the interrupted.iteration event in job-iteration, maybe it can be used to address this issue? Will update with my findings.

There is no currently, but I am open for this feature.
